THE SEXTON'S
PANTOMIME TALE

Aired
10.30 PM
24TH DECEMBER 1997
BBC RADIO 2

In this, the 2nd Xmas Special, George Cole returned as the sexton in a new Ghost Tale. Following the exploits of our inimitable hero as he was whisked through the corridors of time by the ghost of Henry Payne, the Victorian 'Clown Prince of Pantomime', the tale uncovered the roots of the quintissentially British festive entertainment, the Christmas Pantomime.
Featuring veteran comedian and pantomime star Roy Hudd as the ghost, The Sexton's Pantomime Tale promises:

An entirely new and glorious entertainment for Christmas

"A child who has never seen a pantomime, or an adult who has never seen a play, is a public danger."
G. B.Shaw - letters 1905

Warren, George & Ian
